Our 13U Assegai squad was the last group to take to the courts for the 2025 Ontario Volleyball Championships.
The girls got off to a great start on day one, jumping out to a 3-0 record to secure a spot in the top tier of D4 power pools. Day two brought more success, with the team securing another two wins to bring their record to 5-1after pool play. On the final day of their championships, the girls dropped a tight first set but were able to push the match to a third with a convincing second set win. However, the team could not sneak out a victory, dropping the last set 15-10, ending their season.
This was the first time that Lakeside has offered a 13U rep team, and this team rose to every occasion. As we look to expand our footprint at the younger age groups for the 2025-26 OVA season, we look forward to seeing many of our young warriors in the spring and summer training sessions, along with a whole new batch of players looking to keep up their skills in the off-season to prepare for the new OVA season in September.
