The 18U and 15U Ontario Championships are now in the books, with only the 13U OC’s to be decided to complete the 2024-25 indoor season.

18UG Lakeside Results

Isihlangu (D2) finished day one with a perfect 3-0 record.  The team carried their momentum over to day two with a 2-1 record, setting up a D2T1 quarter final with Ottawa Fusion. On the final day, the team defeated Fusion however injuries started to pile up, with several players having to sit out the rest of OC’s.  The girls competed their butts off but ultimately settled for 4th in D2T1 – 20th overall in the province.

15UG Lakeside Results:

Inkemba (D3) went 3-3 in pool play.  The team went to three sets in their first two playoff matches to make reach the semi-finals of D3T2.  Unfortunately, the girls could not muster enough energy to win the semi and ultimately fell in three sets in the Bronze medal match.  Inkemba played their best volleyball of the season and jumped up in the rankings by 12 spots for next season.

Cimpaba (D5) finished pool play with a 3-3 record, with each of their pool play matches going to three sets.  On day three, three sets were once again on the menu with the first match going Cimpaba’s way.  The team crashed out in a heart-wrenching three set quarter final match that had a margin of victory for each set of only two points.  Hats off to a fun and rewarding season for this team!

Ikul (D6) entered the Championships as the number one seed in their division, and did not disappoint.  Winning all nine of the matches that they played, the team ended the tournament with an 18-1 set record and a gold medal in D6T1 for their efforts.  Congratulations on a fantastic showing at OC’s and for bringing home the banner!

Shotel (D6) completed pool play with a 3-3 record and secured a spot in D6T1 playoffs for day three of OC’s.  In the pre-quarters, the team rose to the occasion but could not get to the summit, dropping the match in two closely contested sets.  This team played with heart and pride all season long.  Kudos to all players and the coaches for a season to remember.

Our 13U Assegai are competing in the last round of OC’s in Ottawa.  Good luck team!
