2025/26 REP TRYOUTS

Lakeside will be hosting rep tryouts for the 2025/26 OVA indoor volleyball season at the beginning of September. Tryouts will be held for our girls teams during the period of September 5 through September 14, 2025. Dates, times and locations for all age groups will be posted at the beginning of August.
We will be running a number of Open Gyms for 14-17U girls throughout the summer. Our 14/15U open gyms are currently full, but we will be adding more dates shortly.
The OVA’s tryout window policy is confusing for those new to rep volleyball. Here is a brief summary of important dates:
June 1 – 27: Club’s can re-sign any players from the 2024/25 season back to the club. Clubs CANNOT officially offer prospective (new) players spots for the 2025/26 season but can give verbal offers under the OVA’s policy.
July 1 – August 31: New players can sign an offer to join the club during this “open commitment” period. Offers accepted in this period are not official OVA offers, but clubs can sign and take non-refundable deposits from players that sign this club offer to confirm their spot. NOTE: 13U (6v6) age players are not permitted to sign with a club during the open commitment period, as per OVA policy.
September 5: Players that signed a club offer in the summer will be required to sign an official OVA offer sheet, thus committing to the club for the 2025/26 season. Tryouts and new player offers can also begin on September 5th.
Most clubs in the GTHA have been offering open gyms since mid-May, and will continue to do so throughout the summer in an effort to build their teams out prior to the official tryout period. It is a convoluted process which causes a lot of stress for players, parents and clubs alike. Each club handles their processes differently, so please ensure you are asking questions when attending open gyms, camps, clinics and tryouts to ensure that you are not entering into a situation that violates the OVA’s Tryout Window Policy.
