🔥 OVA Tournament Recap 🔥
This weekend marked the final regular season event for our 14U teams and Round 4 for 18U. Here’s how it went:
Saturday – Feb 21
🏆 14 Isihlangu (Championship)
History made. The Isihies may have set a club record — five straight THREE-set matches… and five comeback wins after dropping the first set every time. Grit. Resilience. Gold medal. Outstanding effort, girls! 👏🥇
14 Shambulio (Trillium)
A dominant morning earned them top seed heading into playoffs. After a hard-fought quarterfinal win, they ran into a strong Storm squad in the semis. Two tight sets in the bronze match led to a 4th place finish. Strong day overall!
14 Assegai (Trillium)
After a tough start in pool play, the team bounced back in the afternoon. A pre-quarter win in two sets kept momentum alive. They wrapped up the day with a three-set win to claim 5th place. Way to respond!
14 Kitara (Trillium)
Splitting morning matches secured a 2nd seed entering playoffs. Although they fell short of medal contention, Kitara finished strong with a decisive two-set win to take 5th on the day.

Sunday – Feb 22
18 Aquila (Select)
A split in pool play set up a strong quarterfinal opportunity. After battling back to force a third set, Aquila couldn’t close it out. A competitive 5/7 match resulted in a 7th place finish.
18 Askari (Championship)
A tough morning draw led to a challenging quarterfinal matchup vs. Smash. Askari pushed it to three sets but fell just short. A strong win over Orillia Suns showed resilience before finishing 7th overall.
18 Takoba (Trillium Green)
Third in pool play meant a difficult quarterfinal matchup. A tight first set loss by two points shifted momentum, and the team ultimately placed 7th after the 5/7 round.
