With the regular season winding down (on paper only – way too much going on to keep track of at this time of year!), here is a quick recap of the past couple of weekends for our teams in their respective Bugarski Cup events:
Feb 28/Mar 1
17 Walezi (Select) took home a bronze medal after a hard-fought day against stiff competition.
17 Shujaa (Championship) finished 7th on a bit of a disappointing outing on their home court.
16 Cimpaba and 16 Sjambok (Trillium Green) played in 17U events and finished 5th and 9th respectively.
13 Kascara (Trillium) has a stellar final tournament and scored a silver medal for there efforts. 13 Onzil (trillium) found a timely win in the afternoon to secure a 5th place finish on the day.
Mar 7/8
16 Inkemba (Trillium White) placed second in their event on Saturday – their third medal of the season. In the same event, 16 Shotel competed hard but ended the day in 9th.
16 Cimpaba (Trillium Green) landed themselves a bronze, while 16 Sjambok took 7th in their Trillium Green event in Thornhill.
15 Mambele (Select) kept their streak alive by securing another 5th place finish – their fourth of the season in Select.
15 Upanga (Championship) also secured a 5th place on the day, their second 5th place finish in Championship.
15 Nimcha (Trillium White) and 15 Akrafena (Trillium Green) added to the 5th place finishes on the weekend, while 15 Silaha (Trillium Green) broke the mould and added a fourth medal (bronze) for the club on the weekend.
UP NEXT: The final regular season event (18U Bugarski Cup) takes place Mar 27-29 before Ontario Championships kick off on April 16th and run through April 25th. Good luck to all of our teams participating in the final 18U event of the season!
